Cynthia Genovese, M.D.

Dr. Cynthia Genovese is board certified in family medicine and is a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She graduated with her medical degree from the University of Bologna School of Medicine in Bologna, Italy and completed her residency at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. While in medical school, Dr. Genovese was drawn to primary care medicine, recognizing as a primary care physician she could realize her passion to care for both children and adults by practicing family medicine.

1. What Are Your Office Hours? Our office hours are:
Monday and Wednesday 9am – 5pm
Tuesday and Thursday 11am – 7pm
Friday 9:00 am – 2:30pm

We are closed on the following Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

2. Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are accepting new patients from the age of seven and older, under most plans with the exception of Medicaid. Please verify that we are contracted with your insurance plans.

3. How can I schedule an appointment?
Appointments may only be scheduled by calling our office at 609-245-0416 or use our website online appointment request to schedule appointment online.

5. What should I do to prepare for my first visit?
Please bring the following items with you to your appointment:

  • Picture ID (i.e. Driver license, Military ID, School ID & etc.).
  • Insurance Card(s).
  • Co-payment (Visa, MasterCard, checks or cash).
  • List of medications with dosage or the actual bottles that you are currently on.
  • Children visits: Please bring immunizations records.
  • Hospital follow-up visit: Please bring any records from the hospital.
  • Bring all filled out paperwork from our website.

6. What is the best way to get a prescription refill?
Our goal is to handle prescription requests within 24 hours, please plan ahead.
Refills can be obtained several ways.

  • Phone Genovese Primary Care at 609-245-0416 to schedule a same day appointment with Dr. Genovese.
  • Phone your pharmacy and ask them to send an electronic request for your medication.
  • Phone our office and leave a message on the prescription refill line. (Option 2 from the main menu)

7. Why don't I have more refills on prescriptions that I take regularly?
The doctors will prescribe enough medication for you to last until your next recommended visit. The doctor will want to check you periodically depending on your diagnosis.

8. What do I do in case of an emergency?
In the case of an emergency, call 911. Our office welcomes same day visits for non-emergent urgent care problems.

9. Will my visit be covered by insurance? Most visits are covered by insurance. Depending on your insurance there may be a designated co-payment for the visit.

10. What should I include when I describe a symptom to my doctor?
Your description should include what the symptom is, when it started, when it occurs, how long it lasts, how often you have it, and anything that makes it worse or better. Try to be as specific as possible.

11. How long does it take to get in to see the doctor for a sick visit verses a physical?
Once you have established as a patient with us, we strive to see sick adult patients within a 24 hour period. Sick children will be seen same day, unless you call late in the day and then we will see them the next morning. Well adult physicals can be scheduled on a first available basis.

12.What is your policy for canceling appointments, and can I do it online?
Our office policy is that appointments that are cancelled on the same day as the appointment MAY be subject to our $35.00 cancellation fee. Patients that fail to show up for their scheduled appointment without prior notice WILL be charged $35.00. We ask that you DO NOT cancel appointments online. Please call our office to cancel any appointments, so that we are able to help you reschedule at that time.

13. Can I email questions to my doctor and will they respond to me via email?
Due to the fact that no email is ever truly secure, it is if you choose to email our doctors with personal information and/or questions, it will be noted in your medical record and you will receive a call back from a nurse or the doctor.

14. I get frequent sinus infections or urinary tract infections and know which medicines work for me. If I call in, do I have to make an appointment every time to see the doctor or will they call something in for me?
Although we understand it is not always convenient to come in, we feel it is not wise to treat any patients’ symptoms over the phone in the event something may be missed in translations or unseen. Please use our online appointment request form at the lowest section of this website or call the office to request an appointment with Dr. Genovese.

15. Do you take Workers Comp? No, your employer has a contract with Workers Compensation doctors. Contact your Human Resources department regarding Workers Compensation related questions.

16. Do you file Motor Vehicle claims?
Yes, you will need to provide your Auto insurance card / policy number, accident claim number / accident report, claims mailing address, adjusters name and phone number.
